Eleanor Clinic is an independent, female GP-owned practice in the heart of Footscray. We have created a welcoming, inclusive medical home where patients receive thoughtful, high-quality healthcare and doctors genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Our clinic has grown through word of mouth, and we now have more patients looking for appointments than we can accommodate.

With our second clinic planned to open in mid-2027, we are looking to welcome more wonderful GPs to our team.

We know that experienced GPs have worked hard to develop their clinical skills, professional relationships and individual ways of practising medicine.

We respect that.

Whether you would like to bring your existing patients, start afresh with an established patient base waiting to see you, or develop a particular clinical interest, we would love to explore how we can support you.

We are particularly keen to hear from GPs who value continuity of care, clinical independence and the freedom to practise good medicine without feeling rushed.

Our doctors work as independent contractors, with autonomy over their clinical practice, supported by excellent nursing, administrative and management teams.

Behind every good GP is a great team.

Our Practice Manager, Meredith, brings over 20 years of experience in general practice management. Having worked in larger corporate clinics, she particularly values the personal atmosphere and close relationships of an independent family practice.

She combines that warmth with highly efficient systems and processes, allowing doctors to concentrate on what they do best – looking after patients.

Our experienced nurses and reception team are an integral part of the clinic. We believe that looking after our team is just as important as looking after our patients.

Independent, but never alone

One of the nicest things about working at Eleanor Clinic is the people.

Our GPs are experienced, thoughtful and generous with their knowledge. We regularly knock on each other’s doors to ask for a second opinion, discuss an interesting case or simply share an idea.

Nobody is expected to know everything, and asking for advice is part of our culture.

We also have a wonderful network of non-GP specialists and allied health colleagues. Having trusted people to call for advice, and knowing our patients will be well looked after, makes practising medicine so much more enjoyable.

For GPs earlier in their careers, we offer experienced clinical colleagues, mentorship and a supportive environment in which to develop confidence, skills and special interests.

A workplace where people enjoy each other’s company

We take our medicine seriously, but we also like to have fun.

We actually close the clinic for lunch, so everyone has a chance to take a proper break. When the Melbourne weather is kind to us, you’ll often find us sitting together in our clinic garden, enjoying some fresh air, sunshine, good food and a chat with the team.

We also have regular doctors’ meetings, whole-team get-togethers, social evenings and family picnics.

And we even have a book club, open to everyone in the team. You don’t actually have to have read the book – coming along for the company, conversation and food is perfectly acceptable!
